After the money…

Pursuit of a new global model of for-profit higher education proceeds apace, with Guardian Higher Education hosting a Higher Education Summit in which its advocates have a prominent role. Increasingly, the members of the Browne Review are ‘coming out’ as lobbyists on opening higher education to private equity investment and multi-national corporations.

For recent criticisms of these trends read John Holmwood ‘on open access and moocs: follow the money’ and on ‘for profit’ providers as ‘cash converters’. Alex Smith similarly argues against the privatization of science.
